Vine Cutting Workday!

Saturday, December 12

9:30am - 12pm

Meet at the Cow Barn Parking across from the boatyard

Join Friends of Greenwich Point and Parks Department.

All ages welcome! Wear a mask and work gloves. Bring clippers, loppers, small saws and water.

Invasive vines are killing our trees at the Point. FOGP and The Town parks department are collaborating a vine cutting day this Saturday to cut many of these vines. Wisteria vines have overtaken a section of the Point near the Mansion so that nothing else can grow. We want to cut back these vines and eventually get rid of them so that a more natural forest can take hold. It is an overwhelming situation, one we cannot do without your help. We are looking for volunteers to bring tools, wear masks and keep socially distant to help. We will also plant some new wildlife friendly shrubs in one of the areas we cleared.
