PROGRAMS
PLANTING

In cooperation with the Town, the Friends of Greenwich Point have planted dozens of trees and shrubs to enhance the Point's natural beauty and diversity. This on-going project is funded with membership dues and donations, with the actual planting handled by Department of Parks & Trees employees.

New plants have been installed in several of the parking lot islands. These replaced weed trees and other undesirable and invasive species.

A new garden was planted adjacent to the Seaside Museum and the brick restroom building. Rose of Sharon, butterfly bushes, Summer Sweet and other plantings will bloom throughout the summer.

SAFE ROADS

This popular, traffic-restricted Sundays program
prohibits most motorized vehicles from entry past the main parking lots. The program runs from November through the first weekend in April, 9:00am to 12:30pm.

Bicyclists, walkers, joggers and skaters may enjoy the open roads during this time. However, vehicular traffic is permitted to pass under certain circumstances, so please be aware that cards may also be on the road. Bikers and skaters are required to follow the 15mph speed limit.

NATURE WALKS

Throughout the year there are many FoGP sponsored walks and talks that engage, entertain and educate. Whether the focus is local lore or natural history, the leaders are well-versed in their fields. Bring a picnic, friends and family and join us for these delightful strolls through the natural wonderland of Greenwich Point.

VOLUNTEER GROUPS

Scouts, school or other groups interested in volunteering for cleanup or weeding at Greenwich Point can contact Greenwich Green & Clean at 531-0006.
